Never Forgotten This Month

     Winter camp will be over already. It's sad to finish our class so fast. Frankly, during attending our class, sometimes class was boring and homework took many times, so it was very annoying. But, as time goes on, I was accustomed my duty and classmates. All of the class was funny and characterful, so I would expect to talk with you in English or Korean. I wish we keep in touch with each others. I think you hope like me. Although our class end, I can't forget this January.

Changing DNA , Copying human

      If I can change animals, I want to change pets' DNA which causes a stink. When we raise a pet such as a dog or a cat, its smell is disgusting to someone like me especially dogs. So, I will change the DNA that is placed on the animals gene and make an unpleasant odor.
     With the advance of biotechnology, we can change characteristics of plants or animals like my writing above this paragraph, and scientists can make a clone of animals or plants, even human. Actually, some animals such as sheep or cow are duplicated. Clonning has the both side. It's good that we can save people who are starving by creating variety plants or animals which are used for food. But, it has opposite side that duplicated human can be regarded as a tool, and human rights will be depreciated. In the law, there is the bill about the human cloning, and it prohibits scientists from copying human. But, I have different opinion about human cloning. Today, Seong-youl said, although someone is copied from original man and has a definitely same genes with its origin, he is alsolutely distinguished from his origin because he grows in the different circumstances, for example, a trend, a culture, neighbors, the system of society, and so on. I agree his view. According his opinion, there isn't trouble related human clonning ,for instance, human market or a question of human rights. But, the law to protect the depreciation of human rights needs because there is always people who use a technology just for their benefits.

Disasters that Frightens and Makes Sick

    An earthquake can be the cause and effect. An earthquake splits a ground and destroys everything on the ground. For examples, Chile, Japan, China, and Haiti were devastated by the large scale earthquake. Also, it can take place after a volcanic eruption because the mantle is weakend while the magma ascend along the crack, for example, Mt. Paek-du and India. Moreover, when the earthquake is happened in the ocean, or when the volcanoes erupted in the sea, it makes the tsunami. Thus, the earthquake has many dangerous sides.
     The disaster that I'm really afraid of is an earthquake. Above writing is one of the reasons I have fear about it. The other reason is the experience in Korea. Few years ago, the earthquake took place , and it was very unfamiliar to Koreans because they haven't had an earthquake for a long time. It was amazing at first time because I could feel that something which is very fast like a light passed under the ground where I was sitting. But, after I heard the news about the earthquake in Korean at that time, I was frightened that I sensed the real part of disaster. We have seen many states where are devestated by an earthquake, and sometimes, we can sense it in that place. Therfore, I'm really scared of the earthquake.
      In these days, my country has many times when it was very cold and snowing heavily. Maybe, it's the first time that the temperature fell until negative 20 Celcius, and the negative tempaerature was kept more than 10 days. It's not usual. In Korean, we have the word, a cycle of three cold days and four warm days. However, the word to describe Korean winter can't tell its own meaning. Because of the global warming or the natural cycles, we will have much heavier snow and rains. I think we can't help it to stop the terrible cold. I listend to the information about the cause of the cold weather and heavy snow. Experts said A jet stream above the North of the earth was weakend and its cold air came towards the middle part of the earth like Korea or U.S. Experts are guessing its cause is global warming and melting glaciers. I think it's too late to stop melting glaciers because human is destroying much area of the nature even at this time. So, we can do the small activities to save the earth and ourselves, but it would be not worked. In addition, there will be more serious cold and far heavier snow,and it will be continuous for years. Thus, we have to prepare warm clothes, bills to saving energy, and so on to pass the winter safely like recent days.  

When I Am Millionare

     If I win a lottery, I invest a partial of the money to the buildings placed on expensive area and buy goods related shelter. After investing, I buy a big area in the outskirt where has clean air and many trees to build my family's own house and building materials. For example, I will set up structure like a house in the drama, Secret Garden. 
      After I get much money through invention, I will purchase cars, one motor home for parents and two sedans for me, sister and father. We will travel whole country of Korea driving motor home and make a lot of special memories. Then we leave on a trip overseas. For instance, we take a trip like Jackie Chan in the movie, Around the World in 80 Days. In the many countries, I and my family experience many things as possible as we can, for example festivals, dishes, shoppings, shows, museums, and so on. My house will be fulled of goods that my family bought in somewhere. 
     At the end, I will support my family members and me to achive their own dreams. My sister will go out and enjoy her life until she wants to study, or she is sickd of playing.  My parents will entrance the medical college or a theological school, and I will study archeology after I become a famous chemist like Richard Heck. 

Who Is Doctor?

 Before you read, you will be pressured by scroll. Sorry.

     Do you know "Doctor Who" which is broadcasting on the BBC channel? It's  famous in the Europe and Korea,and  many Koreans like that drama. I'm included in them who are fan of Doctor Who. Doctor Who has showed for a long time, thus it has series more than 10, which consist of 13 episodes and 2 special episodes, Chrismas and New Year. It also has a number of actors and actress. David Tennent is best lovee. Do you know why he is lovee? Then, watch Doctor Who!  

     I love it, and I can choose it as the best of abroad drama. Doctor is timeload who has lived almost 1,000 years and traveled with Tardice, but he doesn't look like old. He has two hearts and regeneration abillity that is cause of change of his faceand body and loss of memory.

     I love David Tennent who acted as a Doctor from season 2 to 4. The reason I like him is not just only his appearance. He acted Doctor's sensitive feelings, in other words his face, voice, speed to speak, and so on are appropriate to describe a real Doctor. So, I think Mathew Smith who is acting a Docter after David is lacking in showing Doctor's charm, but he has his own appeal.

      Moreover, Doctor has some companions. Every season, his companion is different, and every companions are connected in specific episodes. That is the charm of Doctor Who's season 2, 3, and 4. Billie Paul Piper is appeared over season 1, 2, 3, and 4. She fell in love with Doctor, but it was somewhat tragedy. Next partner is Freema Agyeman. Although she is big part of saving Earth in the episode, she was not impressive as much as Billie. In the season 4, Catherine Ford acted Doctor's peer. She looks like a middle aged woman, but she has a special attractions. I can't explain. It's better you find it. In addition, there is a male companion, John Barrowman. He also is appeared over all seasons like Billie, and he is actting in the his drama, Torchwood, which deals with something such as ailien space like Doctor Who. He is hansome as much as David. His face is attractive.

No More Shaking or Sweating

If I have a chance to invent something, I will make a big capsule. People who enter the capsule are surrounded transparent film. The capsule has a small computer which react automatically to outside temperature, so they maintain proper temperature that people can work actively. For example, in winter, the inside of the capsule is warmer than the outside. Likewise, its inner part is cooler than the hot outside in summer. It's unuseful when you are exercising or doing sports, but, when you're studying or sitting for a long time to think about some important things, It is very good because it makes your circumstance holded, and the suitable temperature helps  you to concentrate your works. In addition, once you have the capsule that I'm imaging, you don't need an airconditional or a heater. You just change its battery or charge. Then you don't need to shake against a strong wind of winter or sweat in the scorching sun. What do you think about my invention? Do you want to buy it if there is product like my special capsule?

Is 20 year-old man truly an adult?

   Teenagers are regarded formally as an adult when they are 20 years old in Korea. There is a coming-of-ceremony like Quinceanera in Spain. I think our ceremony isn't cosidered as a important day like the Spanish ceremony. Every third monday of May is Korean Quinceanera day, and people celebrate teenagers to become adults.

   I don't know what people think about ages which teenagers are turned into elders, but it's not decided clearly in my opinion. A long time ago, ancesters thought 15 ages girls or boys were enough to marry and take the responsibility like the Spanish. However, peoples' standards about ages which regarded as an adult are changed as time passes and acceptting other cultures. So, these days, most of elders consider teenagers as bulking up children untill high school graduation at least, and they protect their sons and daughters. Moreover, some parents consider their offsprings as kids, though offsprings are already grown-up. Therefore, I think 20 year-old person can be treated as an adults. But, in my view, people are truly grown-up in phsycal and mental sides when they challenge to a real society such as finding their position.

Manic Day, Jan. 6, 2011

   The birthday is a gathering day for my family. My father and I regard family as the most important thing as some of you commented on my writing. So, we would always go to the restaurant, eat a cake and sing "Happy Birthday" to family member. It's same on my birthday. Thus, I will talk about my birthday, January 6, 2011. It was just 12 days ago.
   This year, I was very busy on my birthday because I had to finish homework, should meet my friends and eat dinner, and must have the time with family. It was really, really manic day. First, I did work madly to complete assighments as fast as I could. About 8 o'clock, I finished homeworks and got the small and expensive cake from my friend, though I should go out. Next, I went the bar with another friends and ordered chicken cookings because one of my friends extremly loves chicken. They gave me a neck warmer instead of a muffler which I expected. Then, I met a man who I have know for a long time, more than 10 years. Although it was a midnight, about 11 p.m. , we talked about many things and had a good time. Lastly, I bought fried chichen instead of a pizza in order to eat with family. I was sorry to my family especially father. He worked at his firm placed far away from home, and he drove his car for 2 hours to celebrate his daughter's birthday. Though I knew he was very tired and he would be sleeping if I returned at night,  I came back late with a fried chicken. He must have been irritating, but he sang "Happy Birthday" for me. It was very short time that I had a time wiith family, but I was toched. Having time with family on birthdays or holidays is my family custom. As I writed, I always spend time with family every special day, although I have some appointments.

Time to Meet, Christmas

   Christmas is a holiday of many countries. For American, it's the day for familys as we said at the class, and for some Koreans, it's the day for couples.
   In my view, Christmas is the day to meet former friends and spend more times talikg with family. The special reason I like Xmas is Cristmas Eve. Cristians in Korea prepare some performances to celebrate the birth of  Jesus, so I have arranged and played shows for ten years. I went to the church from 7 years old to 18 year-old, about ten years, and I have attended another church with mother. Therefore I often missed friends who I met in the former church. So, I went to the church I had attended and helped preparing perfomances every Critstmas Eve. After plays ended, we would go a restaurant and talk with each other. It's very important day to keep my touches with my old friends. Eve is meeting day for me, and X-mas is just family day in my opinion as I said. Every Dec.25, I always stay at home. It's for pleasure of my father because he feels lonely easily, and I know it is very sad. Except one time, I remain at home all the times. When my friends call me, I went out and returned quickly as possible. On X-mas, I have only to stay with my family. I'm satisfied because I can pass the days with my loving peoples on Christmas. I hope to have a warm X-mas this year.

My Cookeris

I often cooked during winter vacation, sweet-and-sour pork, curry, rabokee(fried ramen), etc. and I had special time with them. For that reason, I introduce about cooking that I made.

A month ago, I tried to make sweet-and-sour pork. We can eat it at a certain restaurant. Making fried pork is a little picky because its recipe has several steps. I wil. use number in order that you follow easilly.
1. Season the meat with pepper, crushed galic.
2. Make a sause. In a pot, you put water, sugar, and ketchup which are essential of the sause. In addition, you can put some onion, fruits, carrot, etc. I just added onion, but apples, pineapples, or another fruits make the sausce tasted sweetly. If the sauce is boiled, add starch flour which you have to mix with water. Then, the sauce will be thick.
3. Coat the seasoned meat with fried powder paste. You can use flour with eggs instead fried powder.
4. Fry the meat you coated. You can fry it just one time, but I recommend you to fry the meat twice, then it will be crunchier.
5. Put the sause on the fried meat.



Abobe pictures are taken when I and my friends cooked sweet-and-sour chichen. We used chichen instead of pork because one of my friends really loves chichen. It looks like fried chichen, but it's softer than normal fried chichen.

Second menu is fried ramen, rabokee in Korean, 라볶이. I made it yesterday for dinner. It's simple to cook it.

1. In a frypan, put water with red pepper paste, sugar, ketchup, and crushed garlic. Ketchup brings out a sweet and sour flavor. You can add some onions, cabbage, ham, eggs, etc, too. 

2. When the water is boiled, put a ramen and rice cakes. Then, just wait to be done.

  

How do you think about my dishes? They were delicious. I think I have a talent for cooking. How do you make some cookeries? It's easy and fun!



My Favorite India Cooking

My favorite meal is a curry because we can eat curry without other dishes, so we also can have meals just pouring it on the rice. Making a curry needs small expense, and it is easy to make it. I cooked it a month ago. If you have curry powder, some vegetables like carrot, onion, and potato and pork, you can cook it. When I made it, I had it with my family and gave to my friends. Curry is famous as dish of India. It is a little spicy, so I recommend it to foreigners who like spicy flavor. It is not like a Korean foods such as red peepper paste, maybe foreigners can eat without pain. I will make it for family with some other cooks after winter English camp is finished.

When I went to Beijing in China. I ate Peking duck for dinner. It's very oily. So I had to drink teas many times. Maybe..I had one piece of duck, I should drink teas at least three times. But, It is delichous and has its flavor not like Korea's duck cooking. After that time, we had Sacheon cooks for lunch. It is spicy, and some cooks were sweet a little. There were egg soup to relax our tongue. In my memory, egg soup was not helping because it was solty a little. China's foods are usually fried, so they are oily, and we have to drink tea with foods.
The other foods that I had in China was a fried small scorpians and a fried cicada larva. The former is delicious unexpectly and crunchy. But, the later has terrible taste! According to my freinds who had it because they lose a game, it's mushy. Although lava's shell was fried crunchy, its inside were not done because it has very thick body. If you have it, can you challenge to eat it? I can not, absolutely. I recommend you, if you go to China, going to Wang fu jing Street gives you a memorable times.

A Never to Be Forgotten Day ->It is not homework!!!!!

I have gone Beijing in China when I took winter vacation during 4 days. It was for stuedents who got a good grades. I went with four teachers and students of my high school. It was my first chance going abroad, so I was excited.
First day, I went to the Tianamen Square and the Forbidden City. Forbidden City had been background of the movie, The Last Emperor, in China, and Tianamen was front gate of Forbidden City. That, the Forbidden City, have many palaces and gold roofs. Though it passed a long time and old, but it is very big. After first sightseeing, we ate Peking duck. It was extremely oily, so we had to drink teas many times.
Second day, We went the Great Wall of China and Summer Palace and took pictures. Summer Palace had a very large lake. But, China is cold in winter, and surface of the lake is freezed. A big and blue palace and a stone ship are in there. I took a photo with putting the palace as a background.
Next day, we went two university. One is Peking University, and the other is Tsinghua University. I could see the class of the university. They were studying, although they had a winter vacation. After visiting two buildings, we had a time that we can enjoy the China's market places. We were in the Wang fu jing street. I and my friends bet, and the loosers ate weird foods. Um..I had small fried scorpians. It was delicious and crunchy. But, poor my freinds had to eat cicada lava. As they had it, their face is ... Oh, no. I can't describe their face. The mouth and tongue must have been terrible. They said "It's muchy. It's terible! Oh, yuck." I didn't eat it, so I was happy at that time. At night, I and some friends made a odd drinks to do BokBulBock, If I translate it in English, fortune or unfortune. We boiled water with some chilies and mixed with horseradish, pickled olives. And we made some cookies which has horseradish in cookies. Played some game, loser ate them. I also did. Because of doing that, our stomaches were painful and had a burning feeling in stomach. The worst, we had to have Sacheon cooks. We had those with pain in stomach.


I can't forget visiting China. Especially night of third day, I never forget.



P.S. I have known wrongly. So, this writing is just my story.

The Best, the Worst

Last weekend is memorable days for me. Saturdays are day for resting. As possible, I finish all homeworks on Fridays. When I can finish homeworks, I keep doing homeworks on Saturdays. Unfortunately, I had  to do homeworks before I went out. Anyway, I almost finished posting writing and comments before noon. And then, I, sister, and father went out to meet father's workmate, we deal him as a uncle. We went to restaurant selling beef. My family had ate meat and beef so many times,  thus I'm really like to savor meat or beef. I ate a lot of beef. Maybe, I had most beef. But, I ate very slowly. It was not binge. After having dinner, we went to karaoke. I and sister had pomegranate drinks which include little alcohol and many foods. We had a nice day.
On Sunday, I'm very depressed because of my father. Father is childish. He becomes sulky easilly. It is really hard to please him. I love father more than peoples' thought, so I have made a efforts to satisfy his expectation. However, last Sunday, I had to complete homeworks, and I couldn't care about him. I should concentrate my works. He was angry with his family on leaving him alone and not giving attention. I understood why he was because these days, I was often left alone at home and behind family's attension. It's very sad, I know. But, that day, I couldn't help anything. He was already mad extremly and refused talking with family. I'm sad when I have to see that situation. So, I was gloomy on Sunday.

Love Story with Movies

We know thousands movies had been realesed for a long time. Perhaps, You have some favorite movies. So do I. This time, I will introduce some movies which taught me, and I'm impressed.

I divided them into three groups. One is story of Korean War and a citizens' campaign. The movie, Brotherhood, is filmed by director, Gang. Jin-tae is old brother of Jin-seok, and they played the leading role. Jin-tae rush into front to make Jin-seok leaved the army. But, 

he lost his fiancee by S. Korean army and heard his brother's depth by N. Korean army which is false. After all, he was tained madness of war. Brother met again at front line as each other's enemy. This movie focused on tragic destiny of brother and brotherly love. I couldn't stand shedding tears. Its scenes make us consider horrors of war and fraternal love.

Next movie is A Magnificent Holiday. It dealt a movement on May 18th, 1980.

The 1980s was dynamic years. Every affair related with election, citizenship, democracy, improvement of economy, etc. broke out at that time. May 18th, 1980 is background of this movie. Citizens who had lived in Gwangju, Jeolla-do fighted with wepons against the army to protect their city and their precious people. The movie said freedom and democracy were not achieved at once. If you watch this, you should know how precious our liberty and rights.

Above movies gave me very strong feeling about them. Another group is not intensive. Maybe, soft.

Do you know Notting hill? Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant were cast as lead roles. I watched it after CSAT( College Scholastic Ability Test,  in Korean, 수능).  It is love story of big star(role of Julia) and normal person(role of Hugh). I thought, "Wow.Hugh is hansome. How beutiful Julia is!", for 2 hours. Their story is romantic especially the scene that they confirm their loves in interviewing. If you like romance, you have to watch this movie.

Jim Carrey is one of my favorite actors. A long ago, I  watched The Truman Show. Hero is Truman who is observed from his birth. His life is fake and artificial, and his existence is just for show. How pitiful he is! He doesn't know anything about his life.

However, he realized his life is strange, and he went out from artificial life. 

Someone says, " It is better not to go out to real society. Truman passed his teens in ideal society. He can not adjust to reality because he has lived in unnatural systems. He will be failed." How think about that? Do you agree to him? I don't agree. Truman noticed secreat of him. Then, he can adjust and make his own life.

This movie can become truth reality. Nowdays, human have much technical device like cell phone, viede camera, computerm, etc. A TV show had challenged shooting without filming staffs. Is it likes Truman show?

Last one is Jurassic Park. I extremly like dinosaurs. I'm exciting when dinosaurs appeared on the screen, so I have watched this movie several times. The story is incidents happen in the Jurassic Park. There is a lot of dinosaurs. I wanted to go to Juassic Park. I don't say about storys because almost people know this movie. If we can see that animals in reality, it is splendid and very dangerous. But, I'm still hope the days that I can touch the dinosaurs.



Recently, I'm watching A Beautiful Mind, and I will do one more movie like the former. A beautiful Mind is about Jhon Nash who is the second Einstein.




I enjoy watching movies. I can forget about something difficult, serious and bad, and sometimes I can be relaxed. Thus, movie is one of my hobbies.

If you have interesting about the movies I suggest, watch it! You would not regret.

Connection Between I and O

Koreans belive the relations between bloodtype and personaility, and I do to an extent. So, in this time, I intend to compare the belief of Koreans with my characteristics.

'O' is my blood type. First, people who have same blood type are sensitive and objective. I don't know well about common sense, but I'm objective, for example, when my friends quarrel with each other, I try to find cause which they argue to solve their problem, and I objectly ask them why you are did. Even they are my best friends, I always do that.
Second, 'O' is rewarded when they are in hard and difficult situation. Yes, it's right for me. I like walking, but sometimes I have to work for a long time regardless of condition. It's very painful, but I always keep going and feel the sense of rewarded when I finish that.
 The third, I'm pure! People believe that someone has blood type, O, is naive. Whoever talk to me "You're not pure.", I'm pure!
The last is about weakness of  'O'. They extremly worry about other's thinking of them. So, they has a bluff. But, it is just defence for themselves. They can be harmed very easily in being betrayed or treated humblingly or dealt with ill will. One more thing they do for protecting themselves is to keep watch people. They carefully watch their partner, and consider him or her as a friend when they decide he/she does not have intend to hurt me. I extremly and rightly agreed that. 'O' is seemed like lively and talktaive, but they have uneasiness in their heart. 

I'm suprised about matching between my personality and belief. I don't belive entirely thinking about relation between person and bloodtype, but I think Koreans's belief is truthful about 80% to some people like me.

Face and Caracter

I will describe my face, my friend and family.

 First, I have rounded face, high cheekbones, narrow forehead and narrow jaw. I try to analyst my personality according to our book. In text, I'm intelligent and confident, and I like to work with brain.
I also have to like changes and have much energy. It is right to a certain extent. Sometimes I'm confident and energetics, but I don't like changes. I'm so confused after something changed. For example, on Jan. 3, I late at the class because I didn't know exactly about bus line, and I got the wrong bus. The way I have to go is changed, so I'm embarrased.

 But, I think that sometimes text is exactly right. In case of my friend is that. She has a pointed chin, wide jaw, narrow forehead, high cheekbones and triangular face. She is smart, but she often depressed easily. 


 My sister has rounded face like me. She has wide jaw, square chins, wide forehead and thick lips. She is very lively, and once in a time she's genius. She is always confident and energetic. (I envy her confidence.)

 Anyway, book can partly explain person's caracter. But, it is difficult to expect someone's personality depending on any texts.

Why are some people smarter than others?

 Does it matter if you are right-handed/left-brained or left-handed/right-brained? I think it is not matter. People are usually right-handed and we have left-handed friends. According to theory, left-handed person is more creative, artistic and musical than right-handed person. However, someone who usually uses left hand is more logical. He loves math and he takes the first place of math exam. It is familar situation, isn't it? Likewise, right-handed person is more logical and punctual. But, a certain right-handed person has artistic talent and can become famous artist. So, It isn't matter that right-handed or left-handed person.

 Also, someone's gift doesn't mean he or she is smarter than others.
Gift affects many side, for example, your intelligence and personality. But, it is just resources! If you want to be good at something, you have to do effort like a miner who digs mine for diamond. People who are smarter or genius have their talent for study. They can't be intelligent without much efforts, though. I know a girl who has studied hard as a grinder. I think She has common brain, but she doesn't give up. So she has studied with desperate effort and always takes the first grade of most subject.
In my cases, I didn't like math and I'm not goot at math. But, I tried to solve a problem without someones help and I got a good grade on November's exam.

If we do something with sweet blood, we can do everything. I hope that everyone in our class is good at speaking English like Erika!

Hi, My name is Sumi Bang.

I live in Namyangju, Gyung-gi. I'm attending Wabu highschool which built  just 3years ago. Our school divided students according to sex distinction. So, When talking with man, I'm awkward. But, I like talk to people and want to make many friends.

I applied for chemical engineering. I hope to be chemical researcher or chemical teacher.

In free time, I used to watch movie or internet, and sometimes I go to Wabu library and read books. When confusing, I just walk  and think carefully about problem, work, etc.

Every sunday, I go to church and chant as part of a choir. After chanting, I'm relaxed and can pass a week without uneasiness.


I have a one sister who is very tall, slim and pretty girl. Sometimes, I envy her.
